Ehab Atassi
Ehab is the managing director of Milliman KSA. He joined Milliman in July 2019 where he established the Milliman’s office in Riyadh, and manages its opportunities in all the practices allong with leading the health projects in the KSA.
Experience
Ehab has more than 15 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. He works extensively in the Saudi market serving clients on a range of actuarial and strategic consulting services.
Before joining Milliman, he was the director of actuarial and national health costing in the Ministry of Health (MoH), Saudi Arabia and one of the founders of national health insurance entity as the single public payer (Program of Health Assurance and Purchasing, PHAP) in the Kingdom. He was one of four main facilitators of building the 2030 national healthcare transformational strategy where he had to communicate with all health stakeholders in KSA health ecosystem.
In his previous role, he has lead several national health initiatives such as essential benefit package for MoH beneficiaries, funding, pooling, payment mechanism, developing health insurance policies for Umra pilgrims, Haj health spending, national health costing standards, national health costing study and assessment of healthcare cost efficiency in the public health sector. He also led the financial workstream at PHAP that included carving out clusters’ budgets and developing models to estimate structural adjustment grants SAG, funded mandate budgets and capitations.
Prior to relocating to the government sector, he spend almost a decade in the private insurance market. He was actuarial manager in Solidarity insurance company where he established actuarial department and was responsible in building strategic financial plan. Before joining Solidarity, Ehab spent 8 years with the market lead insurer Tawuniya where he gained extensive experience in actuarial, reinsurance and underwriting domains.
